From there, we embark on a scenic journey northward to the Norte Chico region, home to Caral, the oldest known city in the Americas. As we travel, take in the captivating landscapes and learn about the cultural and historical importance of this region.
Arriving at Caral around 9:45 AM, you’ll join an expert guide for an immersive tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the fascinating ruins, including ancient pyramids, ceremonial plazas, and the remnants of a society that thrived over 5,000 years ago. Learn about the Caral civilization’s incredible achievements in architecture, agriculture, and societal organization. After the guided exploration, enjoy some free time to wander the site, capture stunning photos, and reflect on the history surrounding you.
After leaving Caral, we’ll head to Barranca, a charming coastal town, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at Tato’s Restaurant, known for its delicious Peruvian cuisine and oceanfront views.
